… was the subject line of the email I received a bit more than a week ago and which resulted in a great evening! But here is the story from the beginning:
I love blogs! Not just having one myself but reading other bloggers blogs is extremely interesting and fascinating! After a while, it gives you the impression that you actually know the people who are telling you bits and pieces of their everyday life!
Yesterday, I went a step further and actually met someone who’s blog I have been reading and following for a while now and who is reading my posts as well. Joanna from Another House Blog emailed me and told me about her planned trip to Germany. As she was going to Munich, which is not too far away from where I live, she asked if we wanted to meet. At first, we both thought it was a crazy idea as we did not REALLY know each other apart from the stuff we were able to read about…
When I mentioned my plans to my boyfriend, he got a bit scared and worried. I was going to meet a complete stranger. God knows what can happen… but then I thought, well, after all, she is the one who is in a foreign country and we were going to meet in a train station of a city. What can actually happen in a busy place like that?
And I can tell you, apart from many great conversations and an entertaining evening with loads of laughing, nothing happened! We had a great time and it was nice getting to know a fellow blogger! It will be great to know her voice and how she actually looks like when reading future posts on her blog and it was great fun learning so much about norwegian and greek culture!
Time passed extremely quickly and soon it was time to go home. I think it was a brilliant idea and am happy that it all worked out so perfectly!
Unfortunately, I did not bring my camera so the only picture I took with my phone is this one of the river Lech in Landsberg which is where we met:
