Appreciate The Little Things – High Five For Friday #23

Hello and welcome back to another High Five For Friday post! This week has been incredibly tough and exhausting and I am glad that we are going on a little weekend trip tomorrow and do not have to work on the house for three days… Having a job, keeping the house in order AND renovating a house is A LOT and I am really glad when it is done!!! Anyhow, there were still some moments I enjoyed this week. I am always trying to appreciate the little things:

1. Planting Flowers

High Five For Friday - Daisy

Last Saturday, we came to a point at the house when the “girls” jobs were done and there was not much to do for me anymore. That is why I decided to start working on the garden. I started planting some flowers (daisies of course…) and I really liked it! I am really surprised that I like gardening this much! Have you ever tried it? Any professional tips for an absolut beginner?

2. It’s Cake Time

High Five For Friday - Strawberry Cake

Christian’s sister loves cooking and baking just as much as me and in my opinion, she can create even greater things in the kitchen! Last Sunday, she made this incredible strawberry cake! Everybody was very impressed about the design! The taste was absolutely delicious even though I only had half a piece due to my diet…

3. The Luxury of Having Your Own Garden

High Five For Friday - Reading

Having our own garden is a great luxury!!! On Tuesday, I went to the house straight after work as I was supposed to help Christian’s father installing the electricity lines. While I was waiting for him, I enjoyed some quiet time in the garden with a book! There is nothing better for a short and relaxing break…

4. Our Cute Little Village

High Five For Friday - Village

This is something I am going to miss soooooo much as soon as we move! I took this picture while I was on one of my early morning runs this week. I have been running twice this week and did a step aerobic class yesterday. That is a lot of extra points I am totally going to use up this weekend!

5. A Shopping Tour

High Five For Friday - New Jeans Jacket

When Christian’s sister asked me this week if I wanted to go shopping, the only thing I could think about was YES, YES, YES!!!! I have not been shopping in AGES! I cannot even remember the last time so it was more than needed!!! I did not buy many new clothes but I found this amazing new jeans jacket at H&M and I fell in love with it straight away! I have been looking for a jacket like this forever and am soooo happy that I found it!!!

Weekend Preview

As I mentioned above, we are going to Bregenz (in Austria, directly at the Lake of Constance) this weekend! We have been invited to go there for our travel blog and the plan they have worked out so far sounds incredible! Tomorrow night, we are going to enjoy a 4-courses dinner at the Casino restaurant and afterwards we are going to gamble a bit at the Casino which is located right next to the lake! On other great news: The weather is expected to be FANTASTIC this weekend. Today, they said something about 34°C on the radio…

I am not sure when we will be back this Sunday, so I am not sure if I’ll manage to do the Sunday Recipe Link-Up. I am definitely going to try, I promise!

  1. I have not had much luck with flowers, but I tried my hand at veggies and herbs this year and my advice is: expose them to full sun and listen to the soil (only water as needed). Good luck!
