Saturday was one of the best days of the year so far!!! We had around 20°C and it was bright and sunny almost all day. Thus, we decided spontaneously to have our very first barbecue of the year and it was awesome!
Quickly, we got the table, the chairs and the grill out and my boyfriend’s sister went grocery shopping to make a small salad and to have some meat we could grill. Please note the snow shovels in the back that are still waiting for a snow storm to hit:
I love having a barbecue in the garden and enjoying some yummy meat and great sides! I am a total meat lover! There is hardly a day I do not have any kind of meat. Thus, barbecues are amazing for me!
These stuffed mushrooms were the idea of my boyfriend’s sister. She simply stuffed them with some cream cheese, ham and herbs. Perfect to put on the grill and enjoy as a side!
This yummy pasta salad was also made by my boyfriend’s sister! She just mixed the pasta with some feta cheese, tomatoes and olives and used green pesto as a dressing.
The best part of having a barbecue is sitting outside in the sun for a long time and eat as soon as something is ready from the grill. The sun was so powerful today and we were sitting in a relatively wind still corner of the garden. My boyfriend also had a lot of fun being the grill master:
I still can’t believe how warm it was that day! Not at all what I was expecting to share on the blog at this time of the year… I have never had a barbecue this early in the year but it was a great experience. Just on a side note: Last year at this time of the year, we had around -15°C and a lot of snow…
