Drinks, Pralines and Cheesy Bites – High Five For Friday #50

High Five For Friday at Tea Time Blog

Today is my last day of work for this year and I can’t believe that I will have two and a half full weeks off to do whatever I want

This last week before the Christmas holidays has been incredibly stressful! There was so much to do and organize and I still do not have all my Christmas presents. But considering the fighting and arguing of my family that always happens right before Christmas, I am not really in the mood to go present shopping…

Sorry for the negative vibe. I will focus on the positive things of this week now – I promise! This is a happy place and I’d like to keep it this way so here we go:

1. New client for my business

There is a new client for my business who contacted me this week! I am very very proud about that and can’t wait to start working with them next January! I will give you more details as soon as everything is finalized!!!

2. Christmas market at the lake

For Christians birthday last Sunday, we went again to the lake of Constance to visit another Christmas market where we had delicious sausages and yummy fried apple liqueur with cream! That is one of my most favorite Christmas drinks this year! Soooo yummy and creamy and very strong in terms of alcohol!!! It is being served hot and as we liked it so much, we bought a whole bottle for the Christmas bank holidays! As #1 did not have any pictures, I have two pictures for #2 today:

3. Birthday cake

I already designated a full post to this cake but it was simply delicious! You would think that it might be very artificial in its taste because of all the artificial colors but it totally isn’t! It was a very nice and small birthday celebration with just family and only a few friends.

4. Making Chocolate Pralines

This week, Christian’s sister and me met to make homemade pralines and I am very proud of the result! I will write a full post about it in a bit as I think it makes an amazing last minute Christmas gift! What do you think about these yummy chocolate Christmas Trees with a star on top of them?

5. Cheesy Bites

With all the praline making, I ate A LOT of chocolate and sweet stuff so at some point I needed something different to neutralize the taste. That was when I found this yummy Allgäu Cheese in our fridge and remembered that I had bought fig mustard the other day. Have you ever tried this combination? If not, you totally should as it is VERY delicious!!!

Weekend Preview

Tomorrow, my best friend and her fiancé from the UK are coming for a visit until Monday and we are planning on hitting the Christmas markets once again before they close for this year. It’s such a shame that Christmas markets do not stay open longer… But we are prepared: We have bottled Glühwein and fried apple liqueur at home and enjoy it as often as we can. Follow me on Instagram for instant moments.

There is also going to be another post about my Just T advent calendar tomorrow. If you’ve missed the first two rounds, you can find them here and here. Stop by tomorrow for some more tea flavors…

  1. Your little chocolate Christmas trees look so good and I bet they were delicious! Don’t worry about those family stories, time heals everything. I’m going through something similar these days and even if I have a knot in the throat since two long days now, I try to focus on the Holidays that start in a few hours. Speaking of that, I would like to wish you a very happy holiday season, enjoy this special time with Christian, your first Christmas in your new house! Take time for you, bake, read and drink tea! ;) xx
