High Five For Friday #16 – Prague Edition

Hello lovelies!!! How was your week??? Mine has been absolutely great as I have been to Prague last weekend with a friend of mine. After my very short flight (35 minutes beats every flight time I’ve had before….), we had such a great time and that is why today’s High Five For Friday will be a Prague edition:

1. Hotel Josef, Prague

High Five For Friday - Breakfast at Hotel Josef in Prague

We selected Hotel Josef to stay at during our weekend get-away to Prague and I highly recommend staying there if you ever go to Prague. It is a modern and very stylish hotel with reasonable prices. It is perfectly located in the city centre with all of the most important sights in walking distance. Service was terrific and the breakfast buffet is HUGE with many delicious things to discover…

2. A Mojito at 2 p.m.

High Five For Friday - Mojitos at Two at Hotel Josef in Prague

Saturday, we spent most of our day discovering Prague city center including all the major sights. At around 2 p.m., we stopped by our hotel for a short break to relax our feet and I could not stop myself from ordering my most favorite cocktail: Mojito. An alcoholic cocktail at 2 p.m. is totally ok, right? When you are on holidays this should be fine…

3. The Dancing House in Prague

High Five For Friday - The Dancing House Prague

This has been a recommendation by lovely Marie-Pier from the Four Seasons at Home Blog (you might remember me introducing her as part of my Inspirational Bloggers Series last weekend). The Dancing House in Prague is not called this because people are dancing in there or because you could attend some dancing show. It is called this way as the building itself looks as if it is dancing. It’s nickname is Ginger and Fred as it reminds us of the silhouette of a very famous dancing couple: Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire. This building really is beautiful!

4. Prague from Above

High Five For Friday - Prague with a view

On Sunday, we used the morning to go to see the castle of Prague. One thing, I totally recommend doing there is getting an extra ticket (It’s only 150 czech crowns) to get access to the tower with its viewing gallery. From there you have the most beautiful views over the whole city centre! Walking up all the stairs made us realize the bad condition of our fitness though… But this was soon forgotten when we found the spectacular views.

5. Prague Souvenirs

High Five For Friday - Prague souvenirs

Every time I travel somewhere, I like to take some souvenirs home with me. Usually, it is something that I can use later on. I am not a fan of buying the typical stuff from the souvenir shops. Who seriously wears all those I love *insert destination name here* T-Shirts after their trip??? In Prague, we found this amazing store called Manufaktura and they have awesome soaps and lotions! Everything in their smells amazingly great! I was so sad that I only traveled with hand luggage and was not allowed more than 100 ml per bottle or tube. But then I found a Manufaktura store just next to my gate at the airport – PERFECT!!!

Weekend Preview:

This weekend, we will be traveling to South Tyrol for a little easter vacation with my parents and two of our friends. As a matter of fact, we will already be there, enjoying the great views from our hotels while you are reading this. Just to give you a little preview of what we will be waking up to the next few days:

South Tyrol

We took this picture last year when we were there for the easter weekend. I can’t wait for some relaxation, yummy food and great hikes!
