How to become a Country Girl?

Good Morning! I hope you have as much sunshine as I do right now here in Germany! Summer 2012 definitely has come back!!! YEAH!!! I just love sunshine, warm temperatures and all you can do when the weather is this great!!!

Yesterday, for example, after this crappy day at work, I went out with my boyfriend for another mountain bike tour through the Allgäu! The landscapes have been extremely beautiful and I was able to take heaps of nice pictures with my lovely Instagram app (do you love Instagram as much as I do??? I am TOTALLY addicted! Yes, with capital letters, that is how addicted I am!!! :-))

While riding our 24k through the countryside I was reflecting on my life here so far! I have always been a city girl and now I am living in a village with 1,000 inhabitants and LOVE it! I know, I can’t believe it myself…

Being a “country girl” isn’t as easy as I thought it would be. As you know, I am practising to walk in high heels but I better not do that in our village. Why? Because people started staring at me… in a little village you just don’t wear heels. :-)

Also, I had to learn that getting hurt while riding a mountain bike isn’t as much a disaster as it might sound. A little scratch? Well, it happens! A little bruise? You’ll get over it! An insect bite? Also this will past! Your clothes are dirty after a mountain bike trip or some other outside activity? Why do you think washing machines have been invented? Your skin is burning because you touched a stinging nettle? Just stop complaining – this is nature and it will not kill you… and on goes the list like this…

I had to learn it the hard way! I had scratches, bites, bruises and yesterday I came in touch with the stinging nettle! Things like these rarely happen in big cities and that is why I was freaking out about them all the time but after a while I got used to it and now I can see the real beauty of living in the countryside. Once you get over these little annoying things, nature shows its real face and there yesterday I just felt happy about taking pictures of cows:

And hey, I am still working in the city, so at work I can wear all my amazing dresses and high heels and wear make up… :-)

Is anyone of you living in the countryside? What do you like about it?
