It’s Kitchen Time – High Five For Friday #39

High Five For Friday at Tea Time Blog

I had THE most amazing week ever!!! I cannot tell you how awesome it feels after having a kitchen again after living without one for almost two months (if you want to find out, how I survived these past two months, check out this post)

We spend yesterday afternoon and night to bring all the kitchen stuff into our new kitchen. We unpacked, we organized and we ran the dish washer for the first time – what a great sound in my ears!!! I have been waiting for this for so long and it is a shame that we are actually going away this weekend so I won’t be able to start cooking before Sunday night but believe me, I will start the second we get back!!!

But let’s get back to the purpose of this post: High Five For Friday:

1. Ken Follett – The Edge of Eternity

Another thing I have been waiting for for such a long time is the third part of Ken Follett’s latest trilogy and I was happy last week when I found that it has been published. As I had the first two books as an audio book in German, I had to continue reading the third one in German as well. Usually, I am the kind of person who prefers reading in the original language when possible as they are usually better than the translations. Anyhow, I will let you know in a review on my book blog how I liked it. You can also read my review of the first two books here.

I am also waiting for the next Shopaholic book to being released. I preordered it and it is supposed to arrive tomorrow!!! What a fantastic week!!!

2. Fall has officially arrived

Tea Time Blog - High Five For Friday - Chestnut and Fall

As promised before, I am going to take some fall pictures to appreciate this season that I am not a massive fan of so far. Let’s see if I can turn this around…

Do you like fall? If yes, tell me what you like most about it so that I can try and change my mind…

3. Tree Project

This picture is very very representative of the current weather we are experiencing over here. It has been great the beginning of the week and it is supposed to be nice again this weekend but in between it was all grey in grey and I was happy to spot some blue parts in between the clouds!

4. *Drumroll please*…. I present to you…. THE KITCHEN

Tea Time Blog - High Five For Friday - KitchenI will do a proper post as soon as we got the glass for the back walls which can still take some time but everything else is done and properly working since last night!!! I could not be happier!!! I love hanging around in the kitchen (aren’t the best parties always ending in the kitchen???). We need to figure out some seating arrangement for breakfast but apart from that it is good to go!

How do you like the new kitchen???

5. I could not resist…

Tea Time Blog - High Five For Friday - Fries

When I first thought of my new kitchen, I started thinking of all the great dishes I could cook in there… Never would I have thought that my first dish ever would be fries… But well, what can I say? Yesterday afternoon when I got home from work, I was really really hungry and the oven was the only thing that was working at that time… Ok, all good excuses but the truth is, I was simply craving for fries!!! Once in a while I need that and yesterday was as good as ever! So I made me a big plate of fries and they were absolutely delicious!!!! But I promise I am going to use the oven and the rest of the kitchen for many more great recipes!!!

Weekend Preview:

This weekend, we are off to the Lake of Constance. To be more precise, we are going to Constance itself to see two of our best friends who we haven’t seen in ages! We can’t wait for a lot of fun that is always happening when we are there!!! We also plan to go out for some fall picture taking so stay tuned for some more fall pictures next week!

  1. My favorite things about Fall are: the clothes (boots and sweaters!), the comforting food, and the chillier temps. Can’t wait for a full kitchen tour. Have a great weekend! xo
