I can’t believe it is almost two months ago that we went to London for a long weekend in the big city… We were really lucky with the weather on Saturday when we went to the Maltby Street Market. After we had yummy food there and were a bit tipsy from the delicious drinks, we went back to London Bridge where we had booked tickets to go up London’s newest acquisition: The Shard.
I was really excited as I had never seen the city from that high before. Considering that a huge storm with thunder, lightning and heavy rain started just 2 hours after our visit, we were able to enjoy the views with dry weather…
I still love London. Even though, I could not live there anymore, it is such a vibrant city that offers so many possibilities to spend the day! There are still a lot of places I have never been and really really want to go to! But as a tradition, we are going back to London for at least one long weekend each year!!!
I also took my super duper wide angle lens with me that day to take some close up pictures of the major sights around and am really happy about the outcome:
We had such a great time up there posing for the camera and looking for places far far away that we had been to. We also tried to locate where we’ve lived before and where Svenja and Mark live right now. (Well I guess, all people do things like that when they are up there and try to get a general orientation over the city…)
Thanks so much to our hosts, Svenja and Mark, for organizing this great experience for us and for making it so much fun!!! We really enjoyed our stay in London and can’t wait to come back again!!!
Did you ever go up the Shard or any other tall building in the world? How did you like it?
