A lot of Wood in the House – High Five For Friday #41

High Five For Friday at Tea Time Blog

Another quick week has past and I can’t believe there are only a few hours separating me from my well deserved one week holiday… We are already busy packing and preparing to leave early tomorrow morning but more about that later…

The week has been great in so many ways but let me show you in detail:

1. Being at home with my old friends again

I love going home to see my friends and it has been another month again but last weekend, we went and we had the most amazing time! As the weather was fantastic, we took the bikes out and went for a 30km bike tour (no worries, it is all flat like a stamp in my home town so cycling is not very exhausting!) What you can see on the picture above is the biggest elephant out of glass in the whole world (it might be the only one though…) and it is one of the major landmarks in my home town!

2. Wood for the chimney

I love that our New Home has a chimney and we are finally prepared for the winter to come… This week we received this massive load of wood which we will use to keep the home warm!

3. We are on fire

The best thing about our chimney is that we can heat 4 rooms in total with it. We tried it on Wednesday night and the warmth that we got was amazing and so much better than the warmth you get from the radiators… I really love the atmosphere that the chimney creates!

4. It’s Cuba Libre time

Yesterday, one of my colleagues had her last day at the company I am working for. She was also working part-time so we both had the afternoon off and she invited me over to her house for some after-work drinks… We had almost 30°C over here which is very surreal for mid October… We decided to have some Cuba Libres to celebrate her new freedom and where sitting on her terrace all afternoon taking pictures of us drinking and sending them to our guys (they also work together…) to make them jealous (which worked out perfectly…).

5. Knitting Class

A while ago, Christian’s sister and me decided it was time to do some sort of course together and we picked a knitting class which started last night. We had a blast and laughed so much. At this point, I wanted to show you a picture of what I had knitted but guess what, I did not manage to knit anything. I tried 3 times and every time I was doing something wrong and the teacher told me I had to start all over again… In the end I realized that I had picked a very difficult pattern for the hat I wanted to knit. As a beginner, I should probably start with something easier which is what I am going to do now. I am taking all the knitting equipment with me for my holiday and will give it another try… (more about the outcome of that next week)
