Who doesn’t know this feeling right after Christmas and New Year’s when you just feel blown up and fat as if you haven’t done anything else than eating the last two weeks (well, most of us probably did nothing else than that or is that just me???). Now with Christmas being over and all the yummy cakes, cookies and other delicious things have been eaten up, my cloths feel not just a tiny bit too tight, some of them don’t even fit anymore. I have this problem every year and as last year, I am going to fight it. Here is the plan:
On Thursday, I started to go swimming with my boyfriend’s sister and it felt extremely great! We found the perfect place to go to as the pool is relatively big and the water has a perfect temperature of 30°C! It is nice an warm which is great for our muscles. I have been swimming a lot when I was younger because I love being in the water. Swimming is also perfect for my joints!
Yes, you heard correctly! I am becoming a cheerleader! At least for two months as I was asked to take part in the carnival ball of our local music club in our village. As the motto of the carnival ball is Sports, we are planning a cheerleading show. Today is our first meeting and I am curious how I will like it! After watching so many high school movies and regretting not doing a year abroad in the US while I was still in school, I never thought that I would get a chance to be a cheerleader myself at some point. We are going to do the whole thing with the costumes and the pom poms…
Eating healthier and with less calories:
That is something I did last year already. I started doing Weight Watchers and I can honestly say that this is the only method that works for me as I am not hungry at all while I am doing it. Last year I lost 5 kilos with that. Don’t get me wrong, I am not fat or overweight but a few kilos less wouldn’t be bad considering that my clothes would fit much better then. There are some great recipe books around with delicious Weight Watchers recipes that taste good and are prepared easily! That is the easiest way to keep track of points. We just make a meal plan for the whole week and due to extra points we have each week, we can indulge in some extra bites once in a while. This way, we are not missing anything! Yesterday we had this yummy melon salad with chicken for dinner:
I am going to keep you posted on my progress every week now! Last week, I managed to stick to my points plan, went swimming once and will do the first cheerleading training today. This is going to be so much fun!!!
Do you have a few kilos too many? What is your plan to fight them?
