Last week it happened: I turned 30!!! I was so afraid of this day, I could hardly think about anything else! I had this picture in mind that I created at the age of 20. At that age I was full of hopes and dreams and I thought, when I was 30, I would have worked for the same company for many years already and I thought I would be married with a house and thinking about kids.
Turns out: Nothing happens as planned! My job situation has changed several times during the last 5 years and I am not married. But hey, the things I achieved so far are not too bad either:
- I met the man of my dreams
- I have the most wonderful friends
- I lived in a foreign country for more than 2 years
- I have travelled a lot during the last 10 years (alone and with company)
- I started my own business
- We are about to move into a house this summer
- I found my true passions: Blogging, Photography, Cooking, Baking and Travelling
It doesn’t matter that my plan did not work out the way I wanted it to be but that I am feeling happy and fabulous with what I have and what I achieved!
My birthday week was amazing with great company, loads of fun, delicious food and beautiful presents. Here is my little birthday recap for you:
It was the first birthday EVER that I could spent outside only wearing shorts and a top! The weather was AMAZING and I could not have wished for anything better than sunshine and warm temperatures!
Christian gave me the most beautiful birthday present of all of them!!! I love you so much!!!
I also received the cooking book of Rachel Khoo who is one of my most favorite TV cooks! She specializes on French cooking which I have always been in love with!
Another great recipe book I received has just recently been published by one of my most preferred food blogger: Zucker, Zimt und Liebe. Unfortunately, it is only available in German but the pictures in there are to die for and I would love to try out every single recipe right now!!!
Speaking of Baking, I improved my baking skills a lot since I bought my KitchenAid. This swimming pool cake was amazing! Hard work but it tastes like heaven!!! It was also fitting really well with the nice weather!
And for the future, when I am baking a cake or muffins or anything else, this great present will allow me to present the result in a really beautiful way to my guests.
As a real tea lover, I was extremely happy about this present from my best friend. How awesome is it going to be when I bake my first teapot cookies to go with a nice cup of tea at tea time???
Last but not least, I received these beautiful tulips in a cute vase that will be great for our new home this summer!
See? Turning 30 is not as bad as everybody thinks! If I could do it, you can do it too! I wish you all a great day!
Are you 30 already? What was it like for you? If you are not 30 yet, what are you afraid of?
