Thursday Thoughts #2 – Just Do It

Another week has passed and it is already time again for my Thursday Thoughts post. This week is absolutely mental. It’s Christian’s mum’s and his sister’s birthday and we have been planning presents and the big birthday party which is going to be on Saturday… Also, my parents are coming along for the long weekend (today is a bank holiday over here in Germany…). But let’s get into today’s Thursday Thoughts topic:

If You Want It – Just Do It

There are so many things I really want to do in my life but due to many different reasons I postpone them to a later time. Often, I think I do not have enough time or energy or whatever else might keep me from actually doing what I want…

But during these last days I noticed that all these reasons are just my arguing with my own mind. The things I really want to do, I can manage to do no matter how stressful it is and no matter how much else I have on my plate. Like running for example. I really really wanted to do it and now finally found a way to incorporate this in my daily schedule. I did not think about it anymore and just did it! My thoughts before were always things like this: “What if I fail?” “What if it is too cold for running?” “Will I have enough time to do it?”… etc… I really wanted it and one day, I simply said to myself: Then just do it and I did and it worked out perfectly! If you really want something, you will find a solution to do it!

Nobody keeps you from doing the things you want to do, most of the time it is just yourself. What really helped me was just starting what I wanted to do. As soon as you start thinking too much about it and try to find arguments for and against it, you will struggle and that will keep you from doing it.

So just think of one thing you really really want to do and start doing it – TODAY!!!

  2. Your thoughts remind me of the days I started running. Running is more of a mental process than a physical one. There is of course the physical aspect, but it is primarily your mindset that gets you out there. ;) Keep going!
