Renovating a House
We have started renovating this house in May. Now, 5 months later, we are still not done but we are getting there! What was supposed to be a 3 months thing now looks more like a 1-year project…
Today, I’d like to share some thoughts about this with you:
Did we work endless hours? - yes!
Did we use all our free time to reach our goal? - yes!
Did we spend all our money on this project? – yes!
Did I freak out, cry along the way and felt like we would never finish? – unfortunately, yes!
Did I miss my free time? - yes!
Did I work until my body just couldn’t do it anymore? – yes!
Sounds horrible, doesn’t it? Many times it was. I am not saying that renovating a house is easy peasy! I could think of so many more pleasant things I could do with my time. Why did I do it then? Here comes the big good side of it:
Did I build a place for our family’s future with my bare hands? - YES!
Do I enjoy living here every second of my life? - YES!
Do I feel like home? - YES! More than ever before!!!
Would I do it again? - If needed, I would do it 100 more times!
See, no matter how hard things might be! If you really want them and if you really see what you are getting out of it in the end, you will manage to go through with it. You will find a way to make it work! I am happier than ever every single morning I am waking up in our bed, in our house! I love the freedom that we now have. I am so happy that this dream has come true!
I hope, you all have dreams you like to become reality! The only thing I can say is: Work for it! Do it! Make it happen! It is your dream and it will feel soo good! No matter what comes your way! If nothing is right, just turn left at the next corner! (author unknown).
What is your dream? What do you want to achieve and what are you willing to do for it?
