Time Hop: First Signs of Spring in South Tyrol 2013

Last year, I made a stupid mistake with my blog data and as a result of that, some of my posts had been deleted from the blog. At least, I made some backups in advance so I was able to get the post texts back but never found the time to post them again.

In the upcoming two weeks, I am going to travel a lot and therefore, will not have the time to create new content every day. Thus, I thought that this would be the perfect time to share these old posts with you. In 1 1/2 weeks, we are going to travel to South Tyrol again. We’ve already been there last year and we were able to take great pictures there. So here comes my little time hop post to get me in the mood for our upcoming trip:

“Last weekend, I went on a trip to South Tyrol. After experiencing winter for what felt like forever, I could not believe my eyes when I finally saw some small signs of spring! I actually gave up hope already that I would ever see the sun, green grass or blossoms ever again… not to mention walking around outside in my spring clothes. I thought we would be stuck with winter coats, scarfs and gloves for the rest of our lives!

But not so in Meran. I enjoyed the beautiful mediterranean atmosphere and tried to shoot as many shots of the spring as possible so that I can stare at them over and over again back in Germany to see what spring CAN look like:

Also, I used the possibility to try out my new macro lens. Here are some of the shots I really like and that show you spring in its full beauty:

Doesn’t this look a bit like a butterfly??? I love the beauty of flowers and their blossoms when you get really close to them!

I think the little hairs came out perfectly in this picture! I am also fascinated by the colour combination! I love red poppies and watching them flourishing is just pure natural beauty! I could sit next to it and watch it all day!

How do you like my first macro shots? There is still a lot to learn! Especially because you only have a tiny little part in every picture that comes out sharp and you have to decide very carefully which part you choose to highlight this way.

Now, we only have to wait until spring also shows its face here in Germany but according to the latest weather report we can expect some warmer temperatures by the middle of next week! Until then, enjoy your weekend!!!”
