Welcome to the New Seasons of Gossip Girl & The Inbetweeners

It’s the time of the year when all the great TV Shows come back with new seasons and lots of new episodes.

Tomorrow is the first big day!!!! Gossip Girl and the british TV Show The Inbetweeners are going to have their Season premiere!!!! Really can’t wait for them to start! The week after will be even busier because then all the other TV Shows I like will start!

I’ll take this occasion to give you an overview about all my favourite TV Shows, a short summary from TV.com, their starting day and an explanation why I love the show. I’ll start today with Gossip Girl and The Inbetweeners because they are going to be shown tomorrow. Then I’ll go on with the rest of them over the coming week, ending with TV Shows I haven’t seen so far but definitely want to watch!!!

Gossip Girl (Monday 13/09/2010)

TV.com Summary: Based on the popular book series of the same name, this drama gives viewers a peek into the world of privileged teenagers on an elite private school in New York City. The story is written by The O.C.’s Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, and directed by Mark Piznarski who has worked on series like Everwood and Veronica Mars.

Surface’s Leighton Meester and Accepted’s Blake Lively have taken the lead roles in this drama series. They will play Blair and Serena respectively, rich Manhattan rivals at a private school in New York. The last additions to this new CW drama are Misconceptions’ Taylor Momsen, The Covenant’s Chace Crawford and The Bedford Diaries’ Penn Badgley. Their characters are Momsen as Jenny a 14 year-old and shy girl, Nate the good looking boyfriend of Blair, and Dan the secret admirer of Serena.

E-Ring’s Kelly Rutherford and The Jury’s has been cast as the mother of lead role Serena. Rutherford will play the mother of Serena van der Woodsen (Lively’s character), a former ballerina and rock groupie. Afterlife’s Ed Westwick has been cast as Chuck Bass and Brothers and Sisters’ Matthew Settle has been cast as Jenny and Dan’s father, Rufus Humphrey.

Why I love it: I started watching Gossip Girl last year while the third season was already running. I had to catch up really quickly and couldn’t stop watching it for weeks! In the end I made it before the end of the third season and was really sad when I came to the point at which I had to wait a whole week for a new episode to come up! I love the show so much because, first of all, it takes place in New York City which is my most favourite city in the world. NYC is presented in such a beautiful way showing all the places I’d love to be all the time! Moreover, all characters wear fantastic cloths which I enjoy watching even though I am sure that I’ll never be able to afford them! I also really like the actors because they are almost all perfect for the role they are playing!

The Inbetweeners (Monday, 13/09/2010)

TV.com Summary: This British comedy focuses around four Sixth Form students dealing with issues facing today’s youth.

Why I love it: This show is completely different from Gossip Girl. It’s focus lies on normal high school students who are trying to find out who they are though facing everyday problems of the youth. It is a great british comedy show. I love the british accent and the jokes are absolutely hilarious. All four main characters are completely unique and bringing their own funny side into the story! Unfortunately, the first two seasons only had six episodes each. I definitely wouldn’t have minded a few more episodes!!!

Please feel free to comment on this and give me your opinion about these two TV Shows! I am also always thankful for recommendations for TV Shows I’ve missed out on so far!
