Last Sunday was my baking day meaning that I spent almost all day in our kitchen. First, I was baking yummy italian bread (post to come on that later) and afterwards, I made my first ever cupcakes!
I have been a cupcake lover for as long as I can think! I love how pretty they look like and how delicious they taste. I can usually eat only one of them at a time as they are so extremely filling but I enjoy every little piece of it when I indulge in one of them! When I lived in London, I went to the Hummingbird Bakery now and then and as my colleagues from work knew how much I loved these little sweet bites and that I also like baking, they gave me the recipe book from the Hummingbird Bakery for my birthday once. Ever since I was too afraid of trying the recipes but on Sunday I felt brave and comfortable to try one of them so I baked Peach-Vanilla Cupcakes - and I have to tell you, they are awesome!!! I am going to share the recipe later with you guys.
I also got the baking book from the Magnolia Bakery in New York City which became pretty famous through an episode of Sex and the City that was filmed there. Their cupcakes are equally delicious but I still have to try the recipes…
I thought, I would be struggling with the frosting/icing (I still have no clue what the difference is. If there is anybody out there who can explain this to a stupid German like me, please do!!!) but it went all fine and it even tasted good! Surprise, surprise!!! I get better with baking every time I try it!!!
Isn’t this just the perfect Tea Time companion to make a grey and rainy day a bit brighter and nicer?
Did you ever mike cupcakes yourself? Which ones are your favorites?
I wish you all a lovely afternoon!!! Only two more days to go until your well deserved weekend!
