I just finished watching American Blogger and that inspired me to write today’s post. I the movie, the bloggers were asked why they blog and I had the feeling they just spoke from my heart when they explained their reasons.
On Sharing Your Life With The World
I have a lot of friends who do not understand what I am doing here or on my travel blog. They have the impression that I am over-sharing and giving away too much information about myself and my life.
What they do not see is that I am not sharing each and every thing that’s happening in my life! This blog is just a snapshot and it helps me a lot!
The Beginning of Tea Time Blog
When I started Tea Time Blog in 2010, it was actually called A Diary of a Recommencement as I was trying to get over a horrible break up and some other things in my life. I had just finished my masters degree and I was looking for my very first full time job which I struggled a bit to find.
Renaming my Blog
After getting over the break up and starting my first job in London a few months later, I decided to change the name into Life in A Metropolis as it was more suitable for my life situation. I talked a lot about living in a metropolis and the joys and struggles that came with this life.
Then I decided to go back home – to Germany! But before that, I wanted to do a trip that I’ve dreamed about for a long time: An Australian Road Trip. That is where Christian and I met. I fell in love and moved to Southern Germany when I came back from my trip 2 1/2 months later…
By then, I changed my blog name the third time and tried to find something more suitable, not for my current life situation, but for me as a person! I am an absolute tea lover and enjoy talking about millions of different things. Also, I wanted to keep some of the british that was in me now that I’ve lived in the UK for over 2 years… And that is when Tea Time Blog was born.
What Keeps Me Blogging?
Over the years, I realized how much I love blogging. My photography skills had improved, writing started to become a lot easier and sharing bits and pieces of my life helped me so much to feel better about myself and my life! I learned how to appreciate just the little things in life. When I feel sad, I simply read some of my older posts and realize that my life is not THAT bad and that already cheers me up.
Of course, I am sharing personal stuff with the whole world but I am the one making the choice about what I am sharing and thus, I am in control! But I get so much out of it as well! Knowing that there are people out there who actually read what I have to say about my life and appreciating my efforts is the best honor I can think of!
It makes me proud when I read that people tried one of my recipes and liked it! I have never been happier in my life than I am right now and this blog helps me to keep it this way! It is a way to express my happiness, my thoughts and also my fears and worries.
Thanks to all of you for reading my blog and to those who keep coming back!
