Those of you who have been following my Facebook posts will have noticed my recent obsession with a new kitchen tool: The Kitchenaid.
I thought about this purchase for a long time beforehand as I wasn’t sure whether to get the Kitchenaid or a Thermomix. In the end, I basically just compared all the functions and figured out that the only real difference (apart form the price of course) is that the Thermomix can also cook food which is a feature the kitchenaid does not have.
I was thinking “Do I really need the cooking feature?” and after a while I decided that I still want to cook by myself. Cooking is a passion and for me cooking simply isn’t just throwing ingredients into a machine and getting out a completely cooked meal in the end. A kitchen machine, for me, should only be a help and should simplify annoying and inconvenient tasks.
And this is what the Kitchenaid does. The basic set comes with a bowl as well as three different types of stirrers. I also bought the vegetable cutter as well as the pureeing attachment. I love having fruits and vegetables cut for me by a machine and then use the prepared ingredients for cooking my recipes. Also, the pureeing attachment is perfect for making all kinds of sauces. I used it once to make a Salsa sauce and it was just so easy and tasted delicious!
On top of all these great features, you can easily add more equipment to make pasta or ice cream for instance! I am sure, I am going to acquire some additional equipment at some point but right now, I am fine with the attachments I have.
What I have used most so far is the basic set. I never really liked baking as I never managed to get the dough right. These times are over now as I can simply pour all ingredients into the bowl, choose the correct stirring attachment and start the stirring. Watching the machine stirring is what I liked a lot! I was fascinated about what this machine can do with only a few simple parts!
Last Friday, I baked 4 cakes for the weekend and I loved all of them! I am so happy with my new kitchen tool and never want to work without it again! I know a kitchen tool should mainly help you prepare food but apart from the great functions it has, it also looks extremely stylish, don’t you think?
The Kitchenaid comes in many different colours and has this amazing retro style that seems to never be out of fashion. It is much prettier than the Thermomix and will look wonderful in our new kitchen when we move into our new home next year…
Do you have a kitchen machine? Which one are you using and for what?
Have a great week!!!
