Thursday Thoughts: Do what you love and you will never have to work again!

Tea Time Blog - Thursday Thoughts Logo

I have been working in offices for a long time. I also worked for different businesses in different countries. With only one exception, I found the exact same situation at every single place: People would constantly complain about literally EVERYTHING! There was always something wrong about their work, their work environment, their colleagues or their boss.

Looking back, the most horrible thing of all of that was that I was one of them! I complained all day at work and when I came home, I continued complaining and felt unhappy. At some point, I asked my self

Is this really what I want to do all my life or is there a better solution?

The answer is no and yes! I definitely don’t want to do this for the rest of my life and there is a better solution. I needed to find something that I love and that I am passionate about that will make me happy. My own business was born.

I am working on my business for almost a year now and had two additional clients to my original one and there is a third one who contacted me just yesterday and if all works out as I hope it will be, this thing will be a HUGE opportunity!!!

What has changed for me?

Everything has basically changed. For almost a year now, I have not complained about anything regarding work! I wake up in the morning, happy and motivated to accomplish something! I have a very long list of projects I’d like to work on. One of them includes writing my very own book and sell it! What can be better than creating something myself and earning money from that? For me, my work actually does not feel like work but rather like a hobby that I do every day! It is amazing how great I feel! I have not been sick in any sort of way for almost a year now (knock on wood) and I’ve learned soooo many new things, got to know inspiring and motivating people and am just one thing:

What else would I want for myself than that?

What about you? Where are you working and does your work make you happy?

Thanks a lot for stopping by my blog! If you like my posts, please spread the word! Thanks in advance!!!

  1. Jana, you seem so accomplished and proud of you. And with good reason! I plan to do the same, that’s the reason why I’m taking interior design classes after Christmas. I hope to have my own business within five years. It’s very scary but at the same time I feel ready! Reading your journey inspires me, it takes a lot of courage to leave a job to jump in a brand new adventure! Congratulations for your hard work and good luck for your many upcoming projects!

    • Thanks for your very kind words!!! I am so happy to hear that there are other women out there embarking on a similar journey! I know that it can feel scary at times but it is also great and I am sure, if we really want it, we can do it!!! Thumbs up for all motivated and hard working women out there!!!

  2. I’ve worked in offices for about 10 years and am at the point now where I also am wondering what it is I really want to be doing. I have plans for some changes in 2015 so wish me luck!

    • I will keep all my fingers and toes crossed for you! I think it is awesome that so many people are going to go their own way these days!!!
